Commitment to achieving Net Zero
As the world’s leading supplier of sports and leisure equipment, we understand that we have a commitment to protect the environment.
We are always striving for continual improvement of our operations and to make sure our fuel, waste, energy, and water usage is as effective as it can be. We are committed to recycling, lowering our waste, conserving energy and water and other resources. We are looking to Invest in renewable energy sources for operations, such as solar panels for facilities or purchasing renewable energy certificates.
We are confident we will achieve Net Zero imminently, as we are already protecting our environment and community through various projects.
- Regular review of packaging materials and exploration of innovative packaging solutions.
- Setting incremental targets for energy efficiency and monitoring progress through a carbon management platform.
- Introducing waste sorting technologies and increasing employee engagement through awareness campaigns.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of digital campaigns and customer acceptance to further minimize print marketing.
- Regularly updating packaging designs and investing in research for materials that are both strong and lightweight.
Supporting Evidence:
- Data Tracking: Utilising waste and energy management systems to track the volume of materials recycled and energy saved.
- Third-Party Certification: Seeking third-party certifications for environmental claims related to operations and products.
- Annual Sustainability Reports: Publishing annual sustainability reports that detail progress, challenges, and future goals.
Measurable Outcomes:
- Providing quantifiable data, such as the number of tons of plastic eliminated, the percentage decrease in carbon emissions, or the increase in recycled materials used.
- Displaying trends over time, demonstrating consistent progress towards environmental sustainability goals.
These initiatives, supported by data and third-party validation, exemplify a proactive approach to environmental responsibility, beyond the foundational structure provided by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Companies are expected to set ambitious targets, measure their performance rigorously, and adapt their strategies to ensure continuous improvement in their environmental impact.
We are determined to expedite these operations and attain the esteemed Green Dragon Environmental Standard. Achieving a Level 5 Green Dragon certification signifies our unwavering commitment to environmental protection.
Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Emissions data had not been published in prior years; therefore, we selected 2022/23 as our base year. These figures are significantly lower to our current figures. This is due to moving to a larger premises in January 2024. While the 23/24 figures will be increased, we will see a significant decrease from 2024/2025 due to measures taken in this document.

Emissions Reduction Targets
In order to achieve Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets on a year by year basis.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 141,000 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 20%.
Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:
Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2022 baseline.
Single-Use Plastic Reduction:
-
- Initiative: Implementing a policy to eliminate single-use plastics in product packaging and cafeteria services.
-
- Results: A significant reduction in plastic waste generation. For example, a 70% reduction in single-use plastics by using alternative materials like biodegradable packaging.
Recycling Projects:
-
- Initiative: Establishing comprehensive recycling programs across all facilities, including electronic waste recycling.
-
- Results: Increased recycling rates, with a goal to recycle 50% of all waste produced by the company by 2027 and 100% by 2030. This will help our environmental pledges but also aid our partners in their bids to become net zero by 2030.
Marketing Materials:
-
- Initiative: Moving towards digital marketing strategies to reduce the need for printed materials.
-
- Results: Decrease in paper usage by transitioning to digital brochures and catalogues, achieving a 40% reduction in printed material.
Reducing Packaging:
-
- Initiative: Redesigning product packaging to minimize material use and maximize the use of recycled content.
-
- Results: Reduction in packaging materials by weight. For example, a 15% reduction in packaging weight per unit shipped.
Solar Pannels:
-
- Phase one: On Friday 19th of April, we completed phase one of our green energy project, installing a 423 kWp solar panel system. This will see 40% of our total consumption on site supplied by solar.
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
Solar Pannels:
-
- Phase Two: planned for later in 2024 we will be installing the second phase of our solar panel project and will have a total capacity of 1,692kWp. Once installed we will then be over 70% total consumption on site being supplied by solar.
-
- Phase Three: Completed by early next year phase 3 will see us maximise the system and utilise a battery system to almost double phase one and two with a max capacity of over 3,000 kWp.
We are making positive strides to offer our customers with alternative green delivery options to reduce our carbon footprint.
